Filming starts on '42' in Macon, Harrison Ford in town

Filming is underway in Macon for the movie ?42,? a Jackie Robinson biopic that?s filming in Macon over the next two weeks, reports the Macon Telegraph.

About 300 crew members will stay in Macon over the next two weeks to film scenes at Luther Williams Field, Central City Park, Terminal Station and other locations around Macon, the paper reports.

The movie tells the life story of Robinson, who broke baseball?s color barrier in 1947. He wore the No. 42 jersey.

The movie stars newcomer Chadwick Boseman and features Harrison Ford, Christopher Meloni, Lucas Black, Jon Bernthal and others as members of the Brooklyn Dodgers organization that Robinson joined, the paper says.

Harrison Ford arrived in town Thursday and ate dinner at popular restaurant Natalia?s, where he talked with several Macon residents.

Restaurant owner Natalia del Basso-Orsin told The Telegraph that Ford invited her briefly to sit at his table and asked her about her life and how she came to open the restaurant.
