Local Business Launches Low-Calorie Martini Product

SPARKS, Nev. -- Fast Food and sugar are some things you have to give up to keep the pounds off, but one guilty pleasure you can keep is alcohol thanks to a local couple and their low-calorie business.

Derek and Jamie Asmis created TinyTini, a ready-to-serve martini for people who are counting calories and pennies.

The drinks are pre-made, which means all you have to do is chill it, shake it with ice and serve. One serving is about 150 calories, compared to a specialty martini at the bar that adds up to about 600 calories.

"I drink martinis a lot, but they have a lot of calories so with TinyTIni you can drink a little bit more and don't feel as guilty the next day," Jamie Asmis, CEO said.

TinyTini isn't just for women. Asmis says it make a great gift. The company is locally-based, but also distributes products in Colorado and Illinois.

Currently, you can buy TinyTini at three locations in town:

Total Wine Reno
6671 S Virginia St, Reno

Vino100
1131 Steamboat Parkway, Suite 830

Peppermill Gift Shop
2707 South Virginia Street
Reno, NV
