Bushwick Music Review: The Festival ? The Bushwick News/BushwickBK

Each week we?ll highlight a different song by a Bushwick band or artist we like. If you would like to have your band?s song considered, you can submit an MP3 here.

What separates drab singer-songwriter acoustic compositions from engaging folk music? Unlike pop music, many artists armed with an acoustic guitar fail to hook listeners with any kind of repetition. The Festival?s somewhat crudely titled song (that could clearly have been more crudely titled) not only has that looping of song structure, but also has some semblance of a chorus, at least in the outro. You almost expect a query as to whether or not you?re going to Scarborough Fair.

?A Kick in the Crack? is available on the Festival?s self-titled album. It is available for download via Bandcamp.
