Many menn and women love getting a massage but very few people feel comfortable offering a massage to someone else. We?re frightened of accidentally causing hurt to the other person. We are scared that we might not help enough. We are scared that the person getting the massage won?t like what we?re doing. Here?s the good news: it is perfectly possible to learn how to give a great massage every time you wish to do so. Here?s information on how you too can give anyone an awesome back massage.

First, you need to make sure that the person is comfortable while lying down. They need to be laying down on a surface that is firm enough but still soft. You don?t have to have a table but try making them lie down on the bed. If you have the person on the floor, provide them with some soft towels or blankets to lay down?or even invest in an inexpensive mat. If the person wishes to keep his or her shirt on, be sure that it is of a soft material so there will be less friction and itching.

Start out with some basic rubbing. Use the full flat side of both hands to rub from the lower back toward the neck (do this slowly). Put some pressure into this rub but dont start with the full on massage yet. Begin at the lower back and slide your hands up, along either side of the spinal column toward the neck then across the shoulders and back down the back. Work on making the loops smaller as you do this step a few more times so that the whole back can be loosened.

Using the heels of your hands provides you a superb way to offer terrific and pointed pressure. Work the heels of your palms in tiny circles beginning in the middle of the base of the back and then working out toward the sides and then upwards and back in until you?ve rubbed the whole back.

Try to sit at the side of the individual who is receiving the massage. Then, having one hand on top of the other, drive into the back with your fingers. Start at the backbone and dig in steadily and with good pressure across the back away from the spine and then gently sort of move your hands back across the back toward the spinal column and move upwards. Do this again as you try to work up the back and then do it again on the person?s other side.

Massage the spinal column. Starting out with the base of the spine, work your way up each of the sausage like muscular tissues on either side of the spine by rubbing in tiny circles with a couple of fingers or your thumbs. Massage each node at least five times each so that you can work up some friction. Work your way all the way up one side of the spinal column and then do the same on the other side of the spine.

One of the things to remember as you work through each of these techniques is that it is good to re-relax your person between each portion of the massage you?re giving. For example, after each technique you apply, perform the basic rub we talked about at the start of the article for a few minutes.
